WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU JOIN US! - COME AS YOU ARE.
WHO WE ARE
In the Fall of 1999 in a basement with nothing more than a boombox, a music stand (pulpit), and a handful of faithful founding members, New Hope felt called to be a beacon of "Hope" to a world that is growing more and more cold to the Lord...
After meeting in the YMCA for 10 years, God gave us the ability, in 2012, to build a building in Plano, IL to call our "earthly" home.
We love God's word, we love God's people, and we love to tell people the Good News of the Gospel! We are REAL imperfect people, who serve and worship a truly perfect God!
PASTOR DENNIS COCKS
Anchor Theological Seminary
Called to preach later in life and serving as an Associate/Youth Pastor for three years, Pastor Dennis along with wife Cathy and a few other faithful followers, felt moved by the Lord to start New Hope Baptist Church. Within 17 years New Hope moved from a home basement to meeting at the Plano YMCA to today preaching God's truth from the pulpit of our very own facility. This was a feat no other independent Baptist church had ever accomplished in the Plano community and we praise God for that! We praise God for using these wonderful people, Dennis & Cathy, as key figures and companions for our walks with Christ.
RECENT MESSAGES & LIVE STREAMS
At New Hope Baptist Church we believe in the importance of the family. First and foremost we want to make sure you are part of God’s family, that you are one of His children. John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name."
The Bible is full of family terms. Israel is called the wife of God, the Church is called the Bride of Christ. God is our Heavenly Father and Jesus is His only begotten Son. The first organism God established was the family when He created Adam and then Eve. Then they soon had children. The husband and wife relationship is a picture of our relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the Husband (Bridegroom), we are His Wife (bride). Ephesians 5:25 says, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"
We believe the Church will only be as strong as its families. As the family unit goes, so goes the Church. This is why Satan is attacking the family unit so vehemently. This is why we see the divorce rate so high not only in the secular world, but also in the Church. At New Hope we want to help people build strong families by teaching men how to be good husbands and fathers, women how to be good wives and mothers, and children to respect both mom and dad.
Even though we know we will not win every battle in our church for the family, we are still passionate about doing what we can to equip people to help break the cycle of divorce and wayward children. We will give people the tools, but it is up to them to use them. So no matter your marital status, single, married, divorced, or widowed, we invite you to become part of the Family of God at New Hope Baptist Church.
A place where family matters.
HOW TO KNOW GOD
WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW GOD PERSONALLY?
What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Do you need to devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Must you become a better person so that God will accept you?
You may be surprised that none of those things will work. But God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him.
The following principles will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now, through Jesus Christ.
God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.
“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Jesus said, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” (John 10:10) — that is, that life might be full and meaningful.
Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant life? Because ...
All of us sin, and our sin has separated us from God.
WE ARE SINFUL
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
We were created to have fellowship with God, but because of our stubborn self-will, we chose to go our own way, and our fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is what the Bible calls sin.
WE ARE SEPARATED
“The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Death is spiritual separation from God.
This image illustrates that God is holy and people are sinful. A great gulf separates us. We are continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through our own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy, or religion – but we inevitably fail.
The third principle explains the only way to bridge this gulf ...
Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Him we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.
HE DIED IN OUR PLACE
“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD
“Christ died for our sins ... He was buried ... He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures ... He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred.”
(1 Corinthians 15:3-6).
HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me’” (John 14:6).
God has bridged the gulf that separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.
It is not enough just to know these three principles ...
We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.
WE MUST RECEIVE CHRIST
“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).
WE RECEIVE CHRIST THROUGH FAITH
“By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
When we receive Christ, we experience a new birth.
WE RECEIVE CHRIST BY PERSONAL INVITATION
Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20).
Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for your sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. You receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will.
Which circle would you like to have represent your life?
You are in control and Jesus has no influence in your life. People like this have never received Jesus into their lives. They remain guilty and cut off from God by their sin.
Jesus is in control and you are following Him as Lord. People like this have received Jesus into their lives. They have been forgiven and experience God’s love
You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer.
Prayer is talking to God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.
The following is a suggested prayer. If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, then you can pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into you life, as He promised.
Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
LET US KNOW IF YOU'VE ASKED JESUS INTO YOUR HEART.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and that they compose the entire Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed and every word is pure; and therefore, are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. We believe that inspiration is preserved in our King James Version. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only English-language translation used by New Hope Baptist Church (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
